2. Acceptance of these terms

By entering DOGUE Coverdog 2026 (the Competition), an entrant agrees to these Terms and Conditions.

If an entrant is under 18 years of age, their entry must be made with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian is taken to have accepted these Terms and Conditions on the entrant’s behalf and must claim and manage any prize awarded to the entrant.

5. How to enter

To enter, an eligible entrant must, during the entry period:

1.  visit dogue.com.au/coverdog;
2.  complete the official online entry form;
3.  upload a clear photograph of their dog;
4.  provide the requested information about the dog, including its personality and why it should be DOGUE Coverdog 2026; and
5.  submit the completed entry before entries close.

Only one entry is permitted per dog. An entrant may enter more than one dog, but a separate entry must be completed for each dog.

Entries are deemed received when recorded by the Competition platform, not when sent by the entrant. The Promoter is not responsible for incomplete, delayed, misdirected or failed submissions caused by technical problems outside its reasonable control.

6. Entry requirements and moderation

Each entry must:

-   be the entrant’s own work or be submitted with permission from the relevant copyright owner;
-   accurately describe the dog entered;
-   not infringe another person’s copyright, privacy, publicity or other rights;
-   not contain unlawful, defamatory, offensive, discriminatory, dangerous or inappropriate material;
-   not depict animal mistreatment, distress or unsafe handling; and
-   comply with the requirements of the Competition platform and any relevant social media platform.

The Promoter may review entries before publication and may reject, hide or remove an entry that does not comply with these Terms and Conditions. Publication in the gallery does not confirm final eligibility.

The Promoter may ask an entrant to verify their identity, age, Australian residency, ownership or authority to enter the dog, the dog’s age, rescue history, DOGUE customer history or any other eligibility information. Failure to provide reasonable verification may result in disqualification.

7. Public voting and selection of the Top 12

Approved entries will be eligible for public voting through the Competition gallery from 7 September to 27 September 2026.

Subject to the Competition platform’s verification controls, a person may cast a maximum of one vote per dog per day.

At the end of the public voting period, the 12 eligible dogs with the highest number of valid votes will become the Top 12 finalists.

Votes generated through bots, scripts, automated systems, vote exchanges, payment, incentives, false accounts, duplicate accounts or other artificial or improper methods are invalid. The Promoter may audit voting, remove invalid votes and disqualify an entrant involved in attempted vote manipulation.

The vote totals displayed publicly may be provisional. The Promoter’s verified voting records will determine the final results.

If a tie affects the final place in the Top 12, the tied entries will be assessed by the Promoter against the judging criteria in section 9. The entry receiving the highest assessment will progress.

8. Finalist video round

Each Top 12 finalist will be contacted using the details supplied with their entry and asked to provide a 10–15 second video of their dog by 11:59 pm on 4 October 2026.

The video must comply with the entry requirements in section 6 and any reasonable technical or content instructions supplied by the Promoter.

If a finalist cannot be contacted, is found to be ineligible, declines to participate or does not provide a compliant video by the deadline, the Promoter may replace that finalist with the eligible entrant having the next-highest verified public vote total.

9. Final judging

The judging panel will assess the Top 12 finalists and select first place, runner-up and third place based on:

-   personality and originality;
-   suitability as a DOGUE Coverdog;
-   photo and video presence; and
-   the dog’s overall story and memorability.

This is a game of skill. Chance will not determine the judged winners. Public vote totals used to determine the Top 12 will not determine the first, second or third-place rankings.

The judges’ decision is final, subject to applicable law. The Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding individual scores or judging decisions.

10. Pooch’s Choice

The Top 12 finalist videos will be presented through DOGUE’s official Instagram content for the Pooch’s Choice vote between 7 and 13 October 2026.

To cast a valid vote, a person must comment on the designated DOGUE Pooch’s Choice post in the manner specified in that post and clearly identify one finalist.

Only one valid Pooch’s Choice vote per Instagram account will be counted. If an account posts multiple comments or names multiple finalists, the Promoter may count only that account’s first clear and valid vote. Replies, ambiguous comments and comments posted outside the voting period may be excluded.

The eligible finalist receiving the highest number of valid comments will win Pooch’s Choice. The Promoter may remove or disregard comments generated by bots, fake or duplicate accounts, payment, incentives or other manipulation.

If two or more finalists receive the same highest number of valid votes, the judging panel will select the Pooch’s Choice winner from the tied finalists using the judging criteria in section 9.

11. Specialist awards

Eligible entries may also be considered for the following specialist awards:

-   Best Rescue;
-   Best Puppy;
-   Best Senior;
-   Bondi Local; and
-   Southern Highlands/Retreat Local.

The specialist awards will be determined by the Promoter and/or its nominated judges using the entry information, photograph, story and any relevant eligibility information. Public vote totals do not determine the specialist award winners.

The category requirements are:

-   Best Puppy: the dog must be under 12 months of age on 31 August 2026.
-   Best Senior: the dog must be 9 years of age or older on 31 August 2026.
-   Best Rescue: the entrant must identify the rescue organisation through which the dog was adopted or rescued. The Promoter may request reasonable supporting information.
-   Bondi Local: the dog or its owner must be a genuine DOGUE Bondi customer and have previously visited DOGUE Bondi for a purchase or service. The Promoter may verify customer records or request other reasonable evidence.
-   Southern Highlands/Retreat Local: the dog must have previously attended DOGUE Southern Highlands/Retreat for boarding, grooming or daycare. The Promoter may verify customer records or request other reasonable evidence.

An entrant may nominate for each specialist category for which their dog is genuinely eligible. Incorrect or unverifiable category claims may be disregarded.

Unless the Promoter decides otherwise, a dog may receive more than one award if eligible.

13. Winner notification and claiming prizes

Winners will be contacted using the email address, telephone number or social media details supplied with their entry and are expected to be announced through DOGUE’s website and social media channels on 15 October 2026.

An entrant under 18 must have their prize accepted and managed by their parent or legal guardian.

A winner must respond and provide any reasonably requested eligibility, delivery or prize-fulfilment information within 14 days of the Promoter’s first notification. The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to contact each winner.

If a winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within 14 days, declines the prize, is found to be ineligible or has breached these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter may withdraw the prize and select a replacement winner using the same method and criteria that applied to the original award.

14. Content permissions

Entrants retain ownership of the copyright in their submitted photographs, videos and written material.

By entering, each entrant grants the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to reproduce, edit, crop, adapt, publish, communicate and display the submitted content, the entrant’s first name, the dog’s name and any supplied social media handle for:

-   administering, moderating and promoting the Competition;
-   displaying entries and conducting voting;
-   announcing and promoting finalists and winners;
-   DOGUE website, email, organic social media, public relations and in-store content relating to the Competition; and
-   reasonable archival and future promotional references to DOGUE Coverdog.

The Promoter may make reasonable formatting edits but will not materially misrepresent an entry. To the extent permitted by law, entrants consent to these uses without additional payment or approval.

Entrants warrant that they have obtained permission from any identifiable person appearing in submitted content and, where that person is under 18, from their parent or legal guardian.

Finalists agree that the Promoter may compile, edit and publish their finalist videos for the final round and related Competition promotion.

15. Privacy

The Promoter will collect and use entrants’ personal information to administer the Competition, verify eligibility and votes, contact entrants and finalists, announce winners and deliver prizes.

Information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to the Competition platform provider, prize suppliers, delivery providers and professional advisers. Personal information will otherwise be handled in accordance with DOGUE’s Privacy Policy available on its website.

Entry into the Competition does not, by itself, require an entrant to consent to receiving unrelated marketing communications. Any optional marketing consent will be presented separately and may be withdrawn in accordance with DOGUE’s Privacy Policy.

Entrants may contact marketing@dogue.com.au regarding their Competition information.

16. Conduct and disqualification

The Promoter may disqualify an entrant or invalidate votes where it reasonably believes that the entrant has:

-   breached these Terms and Conditions;
-   provided false, misleading or unverifiable information;
-   tampered with or attempted to manipulate entry, voting or judging;
-   engaged in abusive, unlawful or inappropriate conduct connected with the Competition; or
-   acted in a way that compromises the fairness, integrity or reputation of the Competition.

Before disqualifying an entrant, the Promoter may request an explanation or supporting information where reasonably appropriate.

17. Technical issues, changes and cancellation

If the Competition cannot operate as planned because of fraud, platform failure, security issues, unauthorised intervention, technical malfunction or another event outside the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter may suspend, modify, extend, cancel or recommence the Competition as reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law.

The Promoter will take reasonable steps to publish any material change and preserve the fairness of the Competition. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

18. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter and prize suppliers are not responsible for loss, damage or injury arising from participation in the Competition or acceptance or use of a prize, except to the extent caused by their negligence, wilful misconduct or breach of a right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

The Promoter does not exclude or limit any consumer guarantee, warranty, right or remedy that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

19. Social media and Competition platform disclaimer

The Competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram, Facebook, Meta or Woobox. Entrants release those platforms from claims arising from the Competition to the extent permitted by law.

Entrants must comply with the applicable platform terms. Any questions, comments or complaints about the Competition must be directed to the Promoter, not to Instagram, Facebook, Meta or Woobox.

20. Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Entrants submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and any courts entitled to hear appeals from them.
