About Us
DOGUE was created in 1998 by Simone Kingston. Her vision was to bring the world of Canine Couture to Australia and create the world’s first dog brand.
Inspired by her dog Gulliver, a stylish boutique was opened that catered to every dog’s whim. With its own designer doggie label and a focus on pet fashion, DOGUE was fresh and sophisticated, offering something new in the pet industry that created overwhelming excitement amongst Sydney’s well-heeled dog owners.
In April 2005, Margaret Hennessy, formerly a Management Consultant but always an avid dog lover, joined DOGUE with a vision to expand DOGUE into new product and service areas and to grow the store network. With an incredible passion for the brand and strong motivation, Margaret as CEO has made DOGUE a successful and prominent business, and Australia’s leading boutique dog retailer and service provider.
DOGUE now features DOGUE Online and nine DOGUE Boutique and Spa across NSW, QLD and VIC and DOGUE Wholesale – with a future vision of catering to every whim of the canine Australia-wide.
And if that was not enough to paw home about, DOGUE has also opened the DOGUE Country Retreat a boutique dog boarding and day spa for dogs located in the picturesque Southern Highlands. Dogs go barking mad with all the adventures, delights and pampering they would expect from a truly DOGUE holiday.
